There was pandemonium in the metropolitan city of Sapele- Delta State Nigeria yesterday after Evangelist Wilson Okotie, resident Pastor, High Impact Christian Centre, located at number 3, Ogirisen Avenue, Off Akintola Road, Opposite Ita Lane, Sapele, Delta State allegedly died of COVID 19
According to reports, Pastor Wilson, who is an evangelist by calling had just returned from a missionary work. Few days upon his arrival he started noticing strange feelings, imbalance in his health, he approached Treasurehold Specialist Hospital Located at N0 46, Akpoisi Road, Off Ugbeyiyi Road, Sapele, Delta State. His blood samples were taken and was sent for screening test were it was confirmed that the pastor’s health symptoms are product of COVID 19.
Instead of contacting the State Ministry of Health or the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) who is solely responsible in handling any confirmed case of COVID 19 the management of the hospital took it upon itself and started administering drugs to the pastor, after fruitless efforts to revive him, the management alerted the appropriate body but it was already late as the pastor health got worse.
The pastor finally gave up the ghost in the hospital before the arrival of the state government appropriate authorities.
The hospital was finally sealed by the state government as they did not adhere to the state government laid down ruled concerning covid-19 patients.
